Using DFS Without DCE/LFS
Charles Lever
[email protected]
The Open Software Foundation?s Distributed Computing Environment includes a networked file system called DFS. Many independent system vendors wish to use their own physical file systems with DFS protocol exporters provided by Transarc instead of using DCE/LFS, Transarc?s high performance Local File System (also known as Episode). It is possible to use a non-DCE/LFS file system with DFS, but the road to implementation is paved with compromise.
