I expect (it's usually the case) of me just being plain dumb but I can't get
the Collector to recognise files that I know are there.

I'm using a Linux system and even using full file paths/pathnames, the
Collector tells me that the resource doesn't exist. I'd welcome some advice
on what I'd doing wrong.

First, though, just to make sure. I'm trying to use the file:// input:
1. The files for import need to reside on the server machine?
2. Do the files need to reside within the gsdl directory under the webserver
document root (e.g. /var/www/data/gsdl/file-directory)?
3. Does the full path name under Linux need the root '/' (i.e. is it
effectively 'file:///path to files?)?

Any advice welcome. I'm sorry to post such a basic question. Again, it may
be stupidity but I've not found the documentation helpful on this question
for me nor can I find an archive of this list in which there might be a
similar question. Please look kindly.
