                           RESOLUTION 81-20 

                           SUPPORT SNOHOMISH 

     WHEREAS: the Snohomish Tribal Council is the duly elected 
     governing body of the Snohomish Tribe of Indians; and  
     
     WHEREAS: the Snohomish Tribal Council has been actively 
     seeking to gain legal and political recognition of both the 
     Tribe and Treaty Rights under the Point Elliot (12 STAT 
     927); and  
     
     WHEREAS: the Snohomish Tribe of Indians has been a member of 
     the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians for several years 
     the Snohomish Tribal Council requests the Affiliated Tribes 
     to submit a letter of support on behalf of the  Snohomish 
     Tribe of Indians for Federal Recognition.  
     
     NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Affiliated Tribes of 
     Northwest Indians write a letter of support for the 
     Snohomish Tribe of Indians for Federal Recognition.  
     
     
                             CERTIFICATION 

     The foregoing resolution has been adopted at the special 
     meeting of the Executive Council of the Affiliated Tribes of 
     Northwest Indians May 26, 1981 at the Sheraton Hotel, 
     Spokane, Washington.
