        Hoddinott of the department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta
        uses the discussion tool in Biology 107, a large enrolment undergraduate course,
        to promote student understanding of scientific principles, collaboration and
        foster a spirit of inquiry. John will discuss his approach and the results he
        has obtained since incorporating online discussions.
