Examples of practical digital libraries: collections built internationally using Greenstone

Witten, I. H. (2003) D-Lib Magazine 9(3), 1-19.

The Greenstone Digital Library Software provides a way of building and distributing digital library collections, opening up new possibilities for organizing information and making it available over the Internet or on CD-ROM . Produced by the New Zealand Digital Library project , Greenstone is intended to lower the bar for construction of practical digital libraries, yet a the same time leave a great deal of flexibility in the hands of the user.
