Computers provide a gateway to an ever-increasing range of information resources. Text streams into our email accounts; newsgroups and discussion lists are emerging on every imaginable topic; libraries all over the world are going online; the size of the World Wide Web is increasing exponentially; and specialized document collections are readily accessible (for a price). With all these options, how do we know where to start looking for the answers to our questions? And how do we use these resources when we get there?
