VISIT OF GOVERNOR GREY TO BAY OF ISLANDS.

ON the 3rd of Nov., His Excellency the Governor, General Cameron and suite, and Mr. Fox, the Colonial Secretary, left Auckland in the war steamer "Pelorus," and arrived at Kororareka on the evening of the 5th. His Excellency landed imme- diately for an hour, but the party returned to the ship for the night. On the morning of Wednesday, the 6th, the Governor went ashore, when he was received by the whole popu- lation, the Natives and Europeans vying with each other to do him honour. He at once proceeded to a marquee which had been erected near the beach, and where a large body of Natives, men, women and "KIA WHAKAKOTAHITIA TE PAKEHA ME TE MAORI"
